Adnan Ali Early life and Education
Adnan Ali was born in Rawalpindi, Pakistan on January 20th, 1976. He spent his early childhood in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Multan as his parents moved from city to city for a government job. His earliest memories are of living Kuwait where his parents had migrated in the early eighties.
Having finished his matriculation, Adnan moved on to study Statistics and Mathematics and graduated with his Bachelor of Arts degree with a specialization in Economics. Adnan’s next step was to start an MBA and found his natural inclination towards marketing and the understanding of consumer behavior at Punjab College of Business Administration (now University of Central Punjab). Opportunity to study in USA brought Adnan Ali to New Mexico State University where he completed his MBA with a major in Information Systems which he completed in 2000.
Adnan Ali Career
Adnan Ali started his working life as a Lab Assitant in the New Mexico State University’s lab network. But he soon found a job that sent him to an altogether different direction in life. Adnan found work with GHG Corporation as a Junior Application Developer, a Houston company that was working on an employee management system. Adnan Ali grabbed opportunity with both hands and won an Employee of the Year award the first year. Things turned for the worse after 9/11 and severe depression and anxiety led to loss of productivity and sickness which resulted in separation between Adnan Ali and GHG Corporation.
Adnan’s next foray into the working life was as a Software Engineer with a little known technology startup called Shoplive.com (now Videoprotien.com). Adnan liked the moved to Delray Beach, Florida and participated in the local Cricket league too. This was much like New Mexico State University as Adnan’s colleagues were a truly international mix. Having learned a lot by working on enterprise level Java software, Adnan was hired as a Java Consultant by RCA Consulting and moved to Holyoke, Massachusetts.
Many years had passed, five to be exact, since Adnan had met his family back in Pakistan. So, by mid 2005, Adnan decided to move back to live and work in Pakistan. His arrival brought instant results as within a week he landed an offshore consulting job with his first employers, GHG Consulting. It was a relationship that lasted well over an year and resulted in Adnan adding further value to a product that was now thriving with hundreds of clients.
In June 2006, Adnan Ali was hired by Tricastmedia (a UK based mobile applications startup) to set up an offshore office in Pakistan. Adnan, along with a bunch of dedicated professionals, built the business from ground up. Adnan worked as a Program Manager and developed idea to value programs for several mobile applications like Cricket Companion, UChat, On Device Portal etc.
Over 10 years of experience culminated in Adnan’s internal love for disseminatng information and Adnan developed a love for teaching at the BBA and MBA level.
Adnan now teaches at the University of Management & Technology, and leads ClickChain Pvt. Limited to help enhance Internet Entrepreneurship (Webpreneurship) in Pakistan.
